Senior Manager, Public Affairs, Leadership Communications

This individual will be responsible for leading communications to support the Worldwide Commercial Organization. This position will work collaboratively as part of the Corporate and Employee Communications group within Gilead’s Public Affairs organization.

  • Lead development, planning and execution of all communications in support of the company’s EVP, Worldwide Commercial Operations organizations.

  • Create compelling, comprehensive, multi-channel communications, with a focus on using innovative approaches to engage employees around the world.

  • Embed in the Worldwide Commercial Operations organization, attending Leadership Team meetings, to anticipate organizational communications needs.

  • Execute on communications plans to support key projects and programs, as well as routine organizational announcements.

  • Develop and maintain a bank of slides and other materials to support EVP in visits to Gilead affiliates around the world, at sales meetings and in cross-functional presentations.

  • Coordinate with colleagues in HR and other functions to ensure alignment and collaboration.

  • Identify and elevate compelling stories and important organizational developments to company-wide channels.

  • Provide content support for major internal meetings.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Experience in executive communications either at an agency or in a corporate environment.

  • Demonstrated experience working with senior leaders and producing creative, high-quality communications materials under tight timelines across multiple platforms.

  • Ability to think creatively about how to ensure content motivates and engages employees.

  • Proven track record managing and prioritizing competing projects simultaneously.

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and success working collaboratively within teams and cross-functionally.

  • Requires 8+ years’ experience working in-house or in an agency in area of communications.
