Job Description

Senior Manager / Associate Director , Payer Strategy & Marketing, HIV Treatment and Prevention (PrEP), U.S. Managed Markets

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the development, execution, and evaluation of strategic and tactical initiatives supporting optimal coverage, reimbursement, and distribution of Gilead products with primary focus on the HIV treatment franchise. This position reports to the Senior Director, HIV Managed Markets Marketing on the U.S. Managed Markets team.

  • Understands and monitors HIV-related payer pharmaceutical coverage policies and trends

  • Development and implementation of payer strategy and Managed Markets POA

  • Provides input into HIV pricing and contracting strategies

  • Provides market analysis and payer insights cross-functionally to inform brand planning process

  • Develops insights, strategies, and tactics for reimbursement, distribution, and access to include, but not limited to coverage dashboards, payer team tools, payer team performance metrics, account team messaging, and access-related sales tools

  • Understands quality measures and develops strategies that align with payer needs

  • Integrates critical data elements with Medical Affairs and HEOR to build payer value proposition for account team coverage and access initiatives

  • Develops payer-facing promotional materials for account management team and ensure appropriate training and implementation to the field

  • Incorporate healthcare economic information into payer promotions and messages

  • Understands contracting analytics and supports ROI analysis

  • Develops best-in-class operational support to increase field based National Account Manager team’s effectiveness

  • Develops brand and therapeutic area analytics and performance metrics

  • Supports the commercialization of new therapeutics across the HIV antiviral portfolio

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and regulatory guidelines governing commercial and scientific interactions with healthcare professionals, payers, advocacy and other business partners.

  • Manages and maintains budget and accruals process

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree required, advanced degree preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience across managed markets, brand marketing, and sales management in pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry

  • Knowledge and experience across pharmaceutical product life-cycle

  • Core competencies in U.S. reimbursement, distribution, and access for specialty products

  • Demonstrated commercial leadership and proven results in managed markets, product launches and/or P&L management

  • Well-developed analytical and strategic skills

  • Proven ability to successfully managing complexity, solving problems, and building strong relationships

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Understanding of regulatory environment including programs designed to educate patients and prescribers on drug safety and appropriate use

  • Must be able to travel up to 30% as dictated by business need
