Job Description

The FP&A Manager will provide financial support (specifically Revenues) for the Liver Disease therapeutic area as part of the North America Commercial FP&A team.

This role will report to the Associate Director, Commercial FP&A Liver and work closely with the Commercial Marketing Sciences to help develop the forecast with inputs and insights gathered through analyzing actual results. This role will be involved with the earnings call preparation process which includes providing insights and various ad-hoc analytics to help Executive Management understand our quarterly performance. This role will also own the pricing model and take the lead in continuous improvement activities to support the business which includes developing scalable and real-time dashboards with metrics that provide insights around our payer mix evolution and discount trends.

Specific responsibilities include:

Develop a strong understanding of all key performance drivers, including market starts, share, inventory, payer mix and pricing. Lead all price related activities of the three year forecasting process and drive the LEs (Quarterly Updates) and Budgets. Track and monitor revenue results against forecast in order to develop insights in to key performance drivers to communicate to various stakeholders that will support pricing and contracting decisions. Investigate and communicate deviations from the forecast on a timely manner. Work in close collaboration with the Sr. Manager of Gross-to-Net in order to manage the monthly and quarterly close processes. Update quarterly Earnings Call preparation materials for Executive management. Create financial models that will assist with analysis of various scenarios to support pricing and discounting decisions. Proactively work on process improvement initiatives by partnering with IT, Controllership and Managed Markets to develop rebate tracking tools, methods to systematize/automate the quarter-end accrual process and develop process to efficiently and accurately incorporate actuals into forecasting model.

Critical component of this role is to be able to work with limited/incomplete data to draw conclusions that are compliant and supportable, as well as being able to accurately and concisely communicate those conclusions to Management.

Essential Duties and Job Functions

Develop and implement financial reporting applications that optimize the use of Company resources. Support financial systems activities that require extensive knowledge of Company policies and procedures. Participate in new business process development within various functional areas. Work with business to continually improve and achieve efficiencies in their processes via reporting, automation and application enhancements

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

6+ years of relevant experience with Hyperion Applications and Oracle ERP and a BA or BS degree in Business or Accounting is required [MBA or CPA is preferred]. Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry a plus. Experience in multi-national organization a plus. In-depth knowledge of enterprise performance management systems. Proficient in all aspects of accounting and finance. Experience involving coordination in implementing system upgrades, or new software rollouts desirable. Strong business partnering skills and experience. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational project management and analytical skills are a must. Demonstrated success working in a deadline driven and multi-task environment. Positive attitude and a strong work ethic required.
