Position

Junior Benefits Administrator - HWA

Responsibilities

The Junior Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day and cyclical administration processes for our clients' health and welfare benefit plans. Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform administration functions and annual and periodic processing which adhere to established procedures (i.e. data management, payroll deduction files, etc.)

  • Support Member Contact team to investigate and resolve plan member queries

  • Work with Senior Benefits Administrator to set up working procedures and ensure all administration documents are up-to-date and meet quality standards – including administrative forms

  • Reconcile external data reporting (i.e. payroll deductions file, monthly premium reporting, etc.)

  • Monitor quality and aging of cases in the Call Management system

  • Perform user acceptance testing (i.e. client specific systems)

  • Develop and maintain checklists, procedures and plan documentation

  • Produce standard reports

  • Assist in resolving issues with third parties that affect members’ benefits coverage

  • Work with business partners to apply appropriate solutions to complex issues

  • Monitor and address quality issues as they arise

Experience

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications and essential computer functions

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in health and welfare benefit plan administration

  • Detail oriented with strong commitment to quality

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Proven relationship building skills

  • Proactive ability to handle and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Client satisfaction focus and team-oriented work style

  • Ability to remain poised, patient, empathetic, tactful and composed while handling client staff and plan member queries

  • Strong oral and written communication skills - with particular emphasis on articulation and grammar

  • High ethical standards

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • Post-secondary education and/or related work experience
