SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY - Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objective of position)
The Nurse Champion will serve as a liaison between project leadership, subject matter experts, users, and upper-level management. The Nurse Champion will represent nursing during system design and validation, advisory council discussion and decisions and to executive steering committee when escalation is needed. The Nurse Champion will be highly involved in supporting and promoting the project to clinicians and administrators. The Nurse Champion will develop and chair committees of clinicians tasked with validating clinical content and developing new content.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Knowledge, skills, abilities, license, registration, certification, education, and experience
Skills: Requires strong interpersonal skills, teaching skills, written and oral communication skills, leadership skills, presentation skills, organizational skills and attention to detail. Requires strong customer service orientation and knowledge of clinical workflow. Must have basic computer/software skills with an aptitude for enhancing those skills in the area of presentation software and Clinical systems use. Must have ability to work with minimal direction on assigned projects. Can handle multiple priorities and lead/facilitate groups. Knowledgeable about current trends/practices in adult education and healthcare. Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory guideleines. Education and/or training required: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a Master of Science in Nursing preferred. Requires state licensure . Experience: Ten or more years of previous Nursing management experience. Successful project management experience required.
