The KeyW Corporation RF Engineer in Fort Meade, Maryland
KeyW has current opening for an RF Engineer, responsible for the integration, testing, deployment, and support of large aperture antennas (i.e. greater than 6 meters) and the associated components that make up an RF distribution system. The candidate should have a strong background in SERVO systems and how they impact antennas with regard to system design for replacement. Components include Antenna Control Units (e.g. Vertex/GD Satcom 133 and 7200), SERVOs / Power Distribution, LNAs, and RF Distribution Switches. The candidate must have experience working with RF test equipment to include Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, and Noise Figure Meters. Support would include extensive travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university and 14 years of applicable experience . Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
The engineer would ideally have familiarity with all aspects of Front End System Engineering, RF signal flow, link budgets, and SATCOM Earth Terminals; additional experience to include work with modems and digitizers is helpful, but not required. The engineer would provide input to the design of the systems that control the antennas and would be involved in solving complex problems associated with both the satellite dishes and the front end hardware and software control system equipment. Work also includes designing, modifying and maintaining system drawings (cable drawings, rack drawings).
The selected candidate should have a climbing certification, or the willingness/ability to pass the course.
