PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The prime responsibility of the License Compliance Management is to protect SAP's IP and to contribute to the improvement of our customer lives by providing a positive, transparent and consistent license management service. It is the role of the License Compliance Manager to deliver consulting and advisory services to customers, SAP and partner sales persons on SAP licensing policy and effective license utilization with the objective of preventing, regularizing or reducing license exposure risk. They are organizationally aligned as part of the Global License Audit & Compliance (GLAC) department to ensure objective and consistent end-to-end handling of audits and/or situations of non-compliance.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Audit Planning

Plan and coordinate annual audit schedule plan for their MU/territory in collaboration with GLAC SSC and Office of License Compliance.

Customer Preparation, Audit Execution, and Reporting

Carry out comprehensive contract reviews and related investigations into relevant historical pricing and software use rights.

Produce or update the customer’s License Entitlement to agreed standards of quality and detail.

Manage audit escalations where customers are unresponsive to an audit request.

Through using the applicable License Advisory Services option, meet with customers and explain the audit process, scope, customers effective license entitlement and position, relevant product metrics and support the customer to comply with their contractual audit obligations.

Review audit reports provided by GLAC SSC, validating findings and finalizing the customer audit reports.

Brief Sales on audit findings and plan customer communication and engagement.

Meet with customers to present and explain audit results and advise on effective license management and potential license resolution options.

Provide negotiation support to the Sales during compliance related negotiations.

Coordinate customer dispute resolution and escalation management across SAP stakeholders.

Manage formal conclusion to the audit process.

License Management Initiatives (LMI)

Execute various License Management Initiatives as centrally identified by Global License Management.

Identify and present new LMIs in his/her territory.

Quality & Governance

Implement and execute compliance and license rights practices in line with Global SAP guidelines and standards.

Provide guidance and advice to Sales on Global Audit/Compliance Sales Policy escalating any non-compliance to Global LCM Team Management.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Excellent communications and presentation skills.

Strong understanding of IPR, software licensing and compliance.

Ability to work effectively under pressure with diverse audiences, management levels, cultures, and personalities.

WORK EXPERIENCE

5 years experience in a software auditing services, commercial environment or license asset management.

Experience in customer facing roles.

Preferably good working knowledge of SAP licensing and SAP software audit process.
