This role is a diverse role that has an element of regular “run and maintain” finance and reporting tasks but is focused around systems integration and process/control improvement projects. The role heavily supports shared services management in ensuring that the accounting and control environment is tightly managed and monitored and that processes are robust and efficient and are flexible to the changing requirements of the business.

To fulfill the role successfully, the individual requires both a solid knowledge of technical accounting and strong inter-personal skills dealing with different departments and countries and stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and approval of balance sheet reconciliations with follow up where required

  • Responsibility for the bi-annual release process including forecasting and variance analysis

  • Regular reporting on Accurate ageing and follow up of key items

  • Accounts Payable (UK) bi-annual legislative reporting.

  • ABTA & ATOL quarterly/annual reporting

  • Issuing monthly shared services statistics/KPIs

  • Support Finance Manager with internal and external audit requirements

  • Significant involvement in various ad hoc projects, driving them to satisfactory conclusion

  • Take significant role in the systems integration project, through supporting Shared Service Managers including testing, process mapping and responding to ad hoc requirements.

  • Identification and involvement in the development of new processes

  • Driving improvements in current processes to gain efficiencies and support troubleshooting requirements.

Key Qualifications:

  • Studying for an accounting qualification (Preferably Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA)

  • Self Starter

  • Discretion

  • Communication skills

  • Confidence in dealing with people at all levels

  • Problem solving ability

  • Numeracy and accuracy

  • Team Player

  • Good accounting knowledge

  • Experience in Agresso or Net Suite General Ledger and Accurate reconciliation software an advantage
