HARRY BROWN'S FAMILY AUTOMOTIVE Automotive Service Advisor in Faribault, Minnesota
We're seeking an experienced service advisor to join our team. Minimum 1 years' experience working in an auto dealership, preferably in a Service Department role, demonstrating excellent customer service, organizational, prioritization, and verbal and written communication skills.
Provides excellent service to internal and external Service Department customers following factory guidelines and departmental practices based on vehicle functionality, Technician input, industry standards, and factory recommendations; makes recommendations for additional products and services.
Drafts accurate estimates to customers outlining the expenses for authorized services. Explain repair process, along with estimated timeframe for service, and answer any questions or concerns. Verify warranty, insurance or contract coverage for service. Draft repair orders; obtain authorization and/or approvals needed for services, provide documentation to appropriate parties following established processes, procedures, and factory guidelines.
Acts as an intermediary between automotive technicians and service department customers.
Documents information, marks high priority orders, coordinates with others to ensure service order is expedited and completed to customer satisfaction.
GED/High School Diploma
Post-secondary education preferred, but not required.
At least 1 years’ experience working in an auto dealership, preferably in a Service Department role, demonstrating excellent customer service, organizational, prioritization, and verbal and written communication skills.
Prefer at least 1 year Advisor experience in a dealership, or equivalent, role demonstrating excellent customer service, organizational, prioritization, and verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of the automotive industry, including but not limited to, industry terms, vehicle manufacture knowledge (i.e., make, body trim options, etc.), automotive features (i.e., interior and exterior options), engine and fuel types (i.e., difference between V6 and Hemi motors, gas and diesel, etc.), and safety features offered on various makes and models of vehicles.
Ability to comprehend automotive technical terms and alter delivery of information to a vast customer base with variable understanding of automotive mechanics and terminology.
Ability to effectively operate in a busy service department with frequent and unplanned interruptions.
Ability to maneuver between multiple computer programs and systems with ease.
Ability to make and receive change, charge, and/or invoice customers
Acceptable driving record meeting company standards for insurability.
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
Proficient in Microsoft Applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
Ability to operate a personal computer
