AIC CNC Machinist- Tool Designer / Engineer in Everett, Washington
Salary : $50 - 53 an hour 6 month contract to hire Summary: Stable and Growing Aerospace Company in the Everett, WA area is currently looking for a Temporary Manufacturing Engineer with heavy Machining and Tool Design experience to assist, develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing and production processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards . Ideally have should have a solid background in CNC machining. The Engineer will develop manufacturing planning and BOMs, create manufacturing drawings, and design tooling and fixturing to meet customer and industry requirements. This hands-on engineer must have experience with manufacturing planning and CAD as well as developing inspection planning . Responsibilities of the Aerospace Machinist / Tool Design/ Engineer will include: Generate cost estimates for CNC machined parts and assemblies Provide manufacturability feedback during part design phase Develop and maintain manufacturing plans, drawings/sketches and bill of materials. Design and evaluate tooling and fixtures for machining and assembly of complex mechanical and electrical systems. Prove out manufacturing processes for machines such as lathes, mills, hobs, shapers, and gear grinders. Evaluate and implement Engineering Change Requests Conduct detailed process analyses and implement changes to processes and procedures such as safety procedures, work methods, production processes and labor standards. Perform specific projects under supervision as assigned by manager. Qualifications of the Machinist / Tool Design / Engineer : Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering from four-year college or university. Previous experience with CNC machining and associated fixture design Must have Current Tool design experience 2 or more years of work experience . At least 5 years of experience with Solid Works. Demonstrated aptitude with mechanisms. Proven ability to develop machining manufacturing planning, drawings, sketches, and bill of materials based on complex assembly and part drawings Understanding of assemblies of machined components. Proficient in applying Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test. Preferred Qualifications Lean and/or Six-Sigma Certification. Prior work experience developing assembly processes to support manufacturing of parts & assemblies. Experience in aviation, energy or similarly regulated industries. Programming experience of 2-5 axis CNC machining centers and gear analyzers. Prior work experience in logic and power electronic design and manufacture or test.
