The Sr. Business Analyst provides Application expertise and is responsible for the customization, support, maintenance, and problem resolution of Financial Systems / applications in a high availability mission critical environment. This position requires detailed working knowledge of the underlying data flow and structure of a variety of systems including Oracle Order to Cash, ESO (Electronic Sales Order), SFDC (Sales Force Dot Com) and other supporting systems such as Datawarehouses (ESDB/CCDB) and supporting implementation systems (Estart primarily), experience in Project Management and working with the broader Sales, Finance and Implementation teams.

Duties and responsibilities :

  • Analyse product gaps and business needs using high level interpretative skills. Map requirements to existing Application features, determine business, technical fit, and document proposed set up change, system change or detailed business and functional specifications as appropriate to achieve required results.

  • Propose solutions that will meet the business need in the context of the minimal customization on common platforms between Canada and the US to enable Canadian functionality in the required timeframes.

  • Ensure the highest level of quality is delivered in upgrades, changes, releases and implementations by supporting the build and use of test environments. Create test strategies and plans, write specific test cases, and build transactions to run tests and verify results. All variances must be adequately explained and documented prior to implementation.

  • Provide operational support to business teams as required through the implementation phases of the various systems.

  • Build and document processes — final and interim to support business timelines

  • Analyse data, document data definition between existing and new systems; build report requirements where required, document reporting/data processes where needed.

  • Provide ongoing support and expertise of products and systems, diagnosing problems and assisting in the development of solutions. Coordinate with the users and applicable technology teams to ensure the timely resolution of daily processing difficulties and issues. Maintain a high level of quality service with minimum impact to the Business and our clients.

  • Facilitate and participate in project prioritization plans, adding valuable input to deliverables, impact, scope and project schedules weighing benefits vs. costs.

  • Plan deliverable implementation and change management ensuring sufficient lead time and communication to modify business processes, prepare impacted associates, maintain set up documentation and adhere to change control standards.

  • Build and manage a long term client relationship, anticipating and addressing underlying needs, proactively adding value to products, services and processes.

  • Mentor and train team members and peers in the Financial Systems Group in order to build bench strength within the department.

  • Build and share knowledge of Sales, Order to Cash and associated reporting processes, interfaces, relationships. Facilitate Project Planning activities with internal and external partners, locally and internationally

  • Build and manage close relationships with Development partners through fostering a win-win approach to project management and accountability.

Qualifications :

  • Excellent knowledge of Oracle systems (ESO and OTC) with specific emphasis on data structure, workflow, set-up and implementation

  • Strong knowledge of sales and financial processes and logical work flows

  • Strong knowledge of data, data structures, methods to integrate data from disparate sources, and build data repositories as needed.

  • Project Management, Business and Systems Analysis experience, proven superior analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to think strategically, grasp business linkages and communicate complex concepts to others

  • Ability to promote and negotiate new ideas and procedures and to influence without authority

  • Strong communications including documentation, facilitation, interpersonal, written and verbal skills

  • Ability to work independently and in project groups and manage time and multiple time-zones and work well under pressure

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Project Management Tools

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience as Business Analyst focusing on Sales Order process, Order to Cash processes and/or reporting and data analytics

Education:

  • College or University degree in Computer Science or equivalent business related experience
