The division advances patient care with diagnostic solutions to improve disease detection and management, and simplify laboratory operations.

The Director, Product Management Global Marketing will manage a marketing team and product portfolio consisting of analytical instruments, assays, pipetting systems, other supporting instruments and software used in the blood screening market at global level. Reporting to the Head, Global Marketing Donor Screening, responsibilities include:

Primary responsibilities for role:

  • Develop and execute a blood screening product strategy to meet the short and long term objectives of the organization, including portfolio expansion by development and/or acquisition and market expansion

  • Manage the stakeholder relationship with internal functions and regional counterparts to ensure the successful deployment of product and marketing strategies required for commercial success

  • Lead the decision process to successfully expand in new countries and markets

  • Provide marketing input to project plans for blood screening products. Develop annual and long term marketing plans, and business plans for new investment opportunities

  • Manage marketing personnel to ensure they meet career development goals

  • Research and articulate the needs of the market to internal and external stakeholders

  • Oversee the overall product portfolio lifecycle

  • Develop strategic marketing plans and materials

  • Support efforts to customize global marketing materials used in each commercial market

  • Support development of study protocols to drive the interests of the organization

  • Support the development and staffing of key trade shows and scientific meetings worldwide

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience managing product management teams in both development and commercial functions on an international scale

  • Proven track record of successful product launches, good project management skills and experience developing and marketing laboratory tests and/or systems

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

  • Active listening skills, negotiation skills

  • Analytical and strategic skills

  • Stong customer focus and passion to succeed

  • Ability to deliver under pressure and assign priorities

  • Experience with working in complex, matrixed organizations

Education:

Minimum: BA/BS degree and a minimum 5-6 years in senior marketing and sales positions,

Desirable: MBA preferred. Experience in a medical device or diagnostics company preferred

Experience:

Minimum five years experience in a combination of US and international marketing roles in the blood bank and/or diagnostics markets.

Equivalency:

Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.
