Position Summary:

North American Tax Manager will serve as part of the KBHC finance leadership team at the Bendix Headquarters providing tax leadership to drive the overall tax policy and compliance of Knorr Brake Group in North America.

Essential Functions:

  • Guide KBHC in all matters relating to income tax, property taxes, transfer pricing, sales taxes and withholding taxes. This position does not address cross border import duties.

  • Coordinate the annual tax planning activities of the NA group.

  • Manage all tax compliance issues of the North American Group.

  • Oversee the submission of the annual tax returns for Canada, Mexico and USA.

  • Work closely with and monitor the work of our outside tax consultants in North America.

  • Work closely with the German Holding Company’s tax department to ensure international tax compliance and tax optimization.

  • Ability to work with independent auditor as it relates to yearend financial statements

  • Establish the income tax entries and calculations of the deferred tax accounts for the NA subsidiaries.

  • Arrange for the provisional tax estimates and work with consultants to submit these on time for Canada, Mexico and USA.

  • Manage all tax audits.

  • Total flexibility showing an ability to work with diverse personalities and support multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in Excel and an ERP system. SAP a plus

  • Possesses extensive knowledge of accounting principles and audit procedures.

  • Knowledge of integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

  • Knowledge of ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes

  • Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and understanding of German GAAP.

  • Knowledge of Tax related software use – OneSource a plus.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting required; Specialization in Tax preferred. MBA or CPA preferred.

  • Experience in a similar capacity operating in a small to medium size organization required. Manufacturing experience is highly desirable.

  • Experience working in an ERP environment is highly desirable.
