AT&T Director Advanced Analytics, Postpaid Wireless Sales & Promo in El Segundo, California

The Director of Sales/Promotion in the AT&T Mobility & Entertainment Group will be reporting to the Assistant Vice President Advanced Analytics and is responsible for analysis of drivers of sales, uplift of promotions/offers, ROI, and identify revenue opportunities for Postpaid Wireless. This role provides guidance to daily strategic business decisions, guiding product marketing, consumer marketing, finance and marketing operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of 5 Business Analysts supporting cross-functional stakeholders guiding their daily and strategic decisions through robust analytics and strategic thinking

  • Daily insights into Postpaid Wireless sales going beyond the descriptive of who/what and into the prescriptive of why and what should we do

  • Analyze new and existing customer sales performance to understand potential customer-specific trends and across the business at the micro-geographic level

  • Produce actionable insights and recommendations to address challenges of marketing effectiveness, offer impact, ROI, and pricing

  • Produce campaign analytics to track results of offer/promo strategies. Create “test” and “learn” environment, through ongoing assessment of targeting strategies

  • Act as a strategy and analytic consultant for sales/promo initiatives, providing guidance and leadership for the design, analysis and measurement phases of the project

  • Translate complex data into a narrative for various business stakeholders

A successful background includes:

  • 8+ years in an Analytics leadership role, preferably in marketing or in an area where partnering with business clients to drive intelligent actions is required

  • Programing experience in SQL, SAS and/or R required

  • Experience querying data from multiple platforms including relational, Hadoop and cloud

  • Experience in leading through layers and providing expert guidance to less experienced analysts

  • Expert Communication skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into simple insights for consumption and adoption by marketing teams

  • Bachelor's and Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science, or Ph.D. in related fields

  • MBA preferred
