Navigation Engineer, Senior

The Challenge:

Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your technical skills and strategic perspectives to make an impact on national and global aviation? Do you understand your customer’s complex environment, and how to develop the right requirements for the aviation navigation systems of the future? Your ability to translate real-world needs into functional requirements and technical performance specifications makes you an integral part of delivering customer focused engineering solutions.

In this role you will support the engineering, operational evaluation, integration, simulation, and/or testing of aviation navigation capabilities and applications including but not limited to Ground-Based Augmentation System (GBAS), Alternative Position, Navigation, and Timing (APNT), and GPS. Assess and support standards evaluations, review system characteristics, benefits, and avionic impacts. Collect and process large volumes of test and survey data. Perform specific technical studies such as identifying and assessing the impacts that radio frequency interference may have on GPS based systems. Develop project plans, collaborate across large team environments, and communicate out on project status and success. Develop briefings, presentations, and other documentation to support internal program audiences and senior staff.

As a leader in navigation engineering, we’re looking for you to solve complex challenges and shape the modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS), one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in U.S. history. You will be contributing and leading the: formulation of advanced and evolved operations concepts; development of functional requirements; and performance of strategic engineering studies and technical assessments within our system engineering and integration team. Your customer will trust you to not only design and develop these systems, but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions. Share your expertise through leadership and mentoring, while broadening your skillset into areas like UAS, AI, and autonomous operations. Grow your skills by merging your knowledge of engineering and aviation with advanced operations concepts to create the next generation of aviation policies, procedures, and systems. Join our team and create the future of aerospace in the FAA-led modernization of our nation's air transportation system.
