Maintain general accounting systems, policies, and procedures to ensure that proper information is reported in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
As a member of the finance division, you will assist in accounting functions which may include general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inter-company transactions. Maintain the general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, analysis, reconciliation and reporting. Maintain and implement general accounting systems. Conduct account reconciliation periodically, ledger close activities, and provide accurate financial data to support management in decision making. Develop and prepare financial reports including profit and loss, income and balance sheet statements. Review and analyze inter-company transactions. Ensure all journal entries comply with internal and external audit specifications. Participate in the ongoing development and maintenance of internal procedures and processes. May participate in special projects.
Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. Strong analytical, prioritization and communication skills in partnering with other internal groups and management. Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets is essential. Familiarity with Oracle Financials is essential. 5 years accounting experience and BA/BS degree in Accounting or equivalent. The Global Functional Expert (GFE) would support the Global Controllers Organization with processes, functional knowledge and system expertise concerning operational execution of the end-to-end processes that impact Oracle s General Ledger and Intercompany Modules. This position will primarily focus on writing, maintaining, cataloging and documenting reports.
The Record to Report Global Process Organization is tasked with the ownership of all business process related to the general ledger that are in support of either the Shared Service Center's Global Controller's Organization (GCO), Global Accounting Operations (GAO) or Consolidation Controllers Group (CONSOL).

As a GFE on the corporate controllership team, you will help support the end-to-end processes for record to report.
Job duties are varied, complex and require limited independent judgment. Work as both an individual contributor and as a team member. Work is both routine and non routine in nature. Work is complex involving the application of technical / business skills in area of specialization. Candidate must possess strong analytical and communication skills in partnering with other internal groups. Strong spreadsheet skills and familiarity with Oracle Financials are essential.
Initially, the individual hired as GFE will work closely with the business and GPO to gain a solid understanding of the record to report processes and support the controller s team as it relates to system applications. Further details are below:
Participate in the evaluation of existing sub-processes and where appropriate perform analysis to identify efficiencies and cost saving initiatives
Triage service request concerning issues with reporting
Standardize and document the end-to-end processes, policies and train the workforce to properly execute against the latest requirements as it applies to Reporting.
Participate in collaborative efforts with the operations business teams and other process owners to devise solutions to problems that cross functions including general ledger, procurement, order management, operations etc.
Participate in identification and implementation of systems-based solutions to emerging problems caused by changing business or workforce requirements.
Develop and implement Reports for GL purposes primarily using FR Studio, Smart View & Business Intelligence
Team with the SOX Program Management Office to identify and facilitate testing of key controls.
Conduct testing for patching and upgrades.
Support month-end and quarter-end activities
This position reports directly to the GPO of Reporting.
Oracle is headquartered in California and has operations worldwide. Travel is on an as needed basis and may represent approximately 5% of time.
BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
5 years of finance/accounting/tax experience
General Ledger experience
Experience in working with Oracle s accounting modules and related applications with systems experience desirable.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and build strong relationships across geographies
Detail oriented, yet able to identify issues and grasp concepts at a broader level
Ability to effectively partner with IT to upgrade systems to meet business, US GAAP and statutory accounting requirements
Experience with OTBI, GCW or CDP
