Job Summary: This position supports the Director of External Reporting. Job responsibilities include: Technical accounting & policy - This role will support of the Chief Accounting Officer’s organization in developing and maintaining accounting policies, evaluating non-routine transactions and researching, documenting and communicating accounting and disclosure implications to the business. This role will interact with operational managers, accounting directors and staff, as well as consultants and external auditors.

Special projects - This role will leverage technical accounting knowledge and risk assessment skills to actively contribute to the remediation of our material weaknesses in internal control over financial reporting, purchase accounting allocations for acquisitions, as well as any significant unusual transactions that may arise. This is a leadership role responsible for managing, coaching, and developing others.

External reporting - This role will provide a support during the year-end and quarter-end close to the External Reporting team to assist in the review and preparation of the 10-K and 10-Q and to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Strong knowledge of practically applying US GAAP principles is required, for areas including: a. Revenue recognition b. Lease accounting (for both lessors and lessees) c. Business combinations d. Asset acquisitions and dispositions e. Income Taxes f. Accounting for Contingencies g. Impairment tests (goodwill, long-lived assets) h. Derivative and hedge accounting i. Restructuring and Exit activities

Qualifications and requirements include: a. Education: Accredited bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field. b. Experience Level: Certified Public Accountant with 4+ years of experience in the audit practice. Experience with a Big Four accounting firm strongly preferred. c. Extensive experience with technical accounting analysis. d. Expert at researching and applying U.S. GAAP. Relevant experience should include complex areas. e. Ability to “cut through the noise” and prioritize issues while clearly and concisely documenting judgmental evaluations. f. Ability to navigate technical accounting and internal control guidance in order to implement practical solutions. g. Experience weighing alternative views to identify the most appropriate solution. h. Able to effectively articulate the Company’s position to management and auditors i. Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas both verbally and in writing - including communication of accounting policies and procedures to finance and non-finance team members j. Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all requirements for the team to fulfill responsibilities according to core strategic goals k. Strong analytical skills to solve problems effectively and creatively while maintaining a high level of flexibility, professionalism and integrity l. Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities m. Very high level of attention to detail. Strong analytical and planning/project management skills with vision beyond the task at hand. n. Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with a strong work ethic who is able to function independently in a “hands-on” environment. Consistently demonstrates persistence and conscientiousness. o. Excellent organization and execution skills. Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines. p. Telecom experience a plus
