Fresenius Medical Care North America Sr. Mobile Application Developer in Durham, North Carolina
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Sr. Mobile Application Developer is responsible for programming, design, unit testing, debugging, technical documentation, software implementation and on-going support of mobile device application software.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support and confer with business community to determine business and technical requirements.
Work with customers and peers for requirements gathering and definition.
Analyze business application requirements of various scope and complexities in order to support business management objectives.
Design and write software specifications, program, and create unit tests to support business requirements while maintaining the highest quality possible.
Develop software applications and functionality in accordance with systems analysis definitions and requirements.
Write code for mobile applications.
Apply current technology to solve technical problems and ensure system and application performance is optimized. Stay abreast of evolving mobile software development technologies ranging from development languages and cross-platform development to mobile operating systems, and other supporting technologies.
Document operational, system and support requirements ensuring adherence to Corporate IT Standards.
Maintain coding standards.
Prepare developer and end user documentation in support of projects.
Create and document 2nd and 3rd tier application support processes and routines to create an efficient application production support environment.
Provide an escalation point for technical support.
Develop and provide formal training for other developers.
Serve as a technical resource for other development staff and business community members.
Perform code and technical architecture reviews.
Assist in development of scalable deployment architecture.
Acts as a subject matter expert providing recommendations and analyses regarding mobile technology for clinical systems.
May provide assistance to junior level mobile developers to more complex tasks that require a higher level of understanding of functions.
May escalate issues to supervisor/manager for resolution, as deemed necessary.
Mentor other staff as applicable.
Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Assist with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor.

Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree desirable
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
5 – 8 years’ related experience; or a Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent directly related work experience.
Experience in the design and development of mobile software applications.
Technical expert highly specialized in mobile technologies.
Familiar with latest security and privacy standards.
Able to design mobile implementations.
Able to act independently given minimal direction.
Able to work creatively, analytically and independently in a problem solving environment.
Excellent task management for self and other software developers.
Ability to maintain mental focus on complex logic.
Able to read and comprehend complex technical documents.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to deliver quality results on time and within budget.
Extensive knowledge and experience of software development lifecycle and methodologies spanning development, testing, release and deployment management.
Healthcare industry understanding and experience preferred.
