Cirrus Aircraft Manager - Configuration & Change Management in Duluth, Minnesota

Cirrus Aircraft is currently seeking a Manager of Configuration and Change Management at our headquarters in Duluth, MN.

The Manager of Configuration and Change Management will be responsible for leading product and process changes for configuration/change management enterprise needs. The position will oversee processes related to our Change Review Board (CRB) & Change Implementation Board (CIB), Windchill release processes, and enterprise change metrics to meet the needs of the Cirrus Configuration and Change Management Policies. Position works with many departments and teams to efficiently implement engineering change into a multi-plant manufacturing organization with an understanding of field processes and potential impact to our partners and customers. Managing configuration change can be complex and requires a high degree of detail with the ability to communicate effectively to all areas of the company regarding configuration and change process, implementation needs, and potential area impact.

  • Leads and focuses on Configuration and Change management development and implementation strategy.

  • Leads teams and is looked to for guidance.

  • Exceptional facilitation skills to bring a cross-functional team together to accomplish tasks and goals, resolve issues and conflict, and problem solve together.

  • Drives decision making with appropriate business information from a cross-functional team.

  • Works with teams to understand business objectives and measures change implementation to the objective.

  • Monitors process issue resolutions and troubleshooting for all CM processes.

  • Understands Windchill change workflow for CM procedures, integration, and process guidance.

  • Reviews change impact assessments including schedule and cost implications.

  • Provides insight on risk, issues, requirements, design, and/or solution to be able to effectively implement change.

  • Responsible for continuous process improvement in process, reporting, and change implementation. Uses creative ideas to improve processes and services and easily adapts to change.

  • As a cross-functional leader, professionalism in speaking, presenting, communicating with team members and executives is required and expected to lead by example in all forms and formats (public speaking, team meetings, PowerPoint, memos, emails, etc.)

Education and/or Experience:

  • 7 years of experience in Configuration Management.

  • 3 years supervisory/leadership experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or Business required.

  • Experience/proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management Software - Windchill PLM preferred.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.

  • Proven experience in coordinating multiple department level decisions including manufacturing planning, operations, and material management functions required.

  • Experience with training in Configuration and Change Management principles, syllabus creation, and mentoring preferred.

  • CMII certification preferred.
