The Smithwicks Experience in Kilkenny allows visitors to uncover the history of Smithwick's Irish Ale and Diageo has invested 25M to revive a 1950s Guinness Power Station at St James’s Gate into a new urban working distillery and brand home - the new Roe and Co Distillery opening in June 2019.

The Guinness Storehouse is the number 1 international visitor attraction in Ireland, the “Home of Guinness” a national icon, located in the heart of St. James’ Gate brewery, and synonymous with the Guinness core brand values of power, goodness and communion. We are looking for a passionate digital marketeer to join us on this journey and help us to build on the historic legacy left by leaders like Arthur Guinness and George Roe.

Digital Manager – SEO & Content

The main KPI of this role is to drive awareness, by generating consumer leads and increasing search engine visibility for our Visitor Experiences

Core accountabilities:

  • Constantly measuring and optimising SEO performance and opportunities in collaboration with the SEO agency

  • Implement technical SEO recommendations in collaboration with the SEO agency and web developers in a structured, logical and timely manner

  • Provide recommendations and execute strategies for content development across target countries in coordination with SEO goals – both general and keyword-specific. Collaborate with marketing teammates to maintain a consistent brand voice across all platforms. Management of the digital asset inventory with a focus on past learnings and best practice.

  • Build a sustainable content-led outreach and link building programme in line with SEO goals

  • Develop CRM strategy, list segmentation and database management plan, to drive opportunities to maintain the relationship with Brand and Visitor Experience advocates.

  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Digital to execute the digital and e-commerce strategy, delivering a seamless and brilliant execution on digital platforms.

Desired technical expertise:

  • An up-to-date understanding of Google's ranking algorithms and updates

  • Working knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS)

  • Working knowledge of SEO / Keyword tracking tools (SEOmonitor, Moz, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of keyword research tools (SEM Rush, Google Keyword Planner, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of backlinks and link measurement tools (Ahrefs, Majestic, etc.)

  • Exceptional attention to detail when it comes to briefing, writing and / or proofing on-page copy.
