Project Overview: We are seeking a junior to mid-level Java programmer and user interface developer who will provide critical support to a statistical modernization project focused on the development of key components for a major business system. This often requires that the Java professional participate in analyzing, designing, implementing and maintaining computer systems to support statistical surveys. Duties include, but not limited to: ensuring compatibility between equipment and software, analyzing operational/system requirements, supporting design reviews, and presenting technical briefings; engineering systems to produce prototypes, proof of concepts, or the full implementation of systems; evaluating, assessing, documenting, and testing data security and continuity of operations for systems and programs...
Minimum Technical Qualifications:
At least 7 years’ experience as a Java programmer / user interface developer:
Analyzing requirements from users and producing system specifications developing analysis models using Unified Modeling Language (UML) or other data modeling standards.
Programming Java applications, specifically focused on developing user interface solutions
Coding with SQL or database stored procedures
At least five years’ experience
Executing unit testing on development modules and documenting test results
Design and development of applications
Data warehousing, distributed processing, logical and physical database design, software integration, or implementation of security techniques
Evaluating or comparing various technologies (e.g. client/server, multi-tiered architectures, database architectures, and structures, etc.) and their appropriateness for a wide variety of business requirements
At least three years’ experience
Building responsive browser applications using modern technologies
Working with product owner and/or stakeholders when implementing user experience designs (Wireframes/POC) to meet front-end needs
With at least one (1) development methodology or iterative framework like Agile, RUP or Spiral
Analyzing applications or multi-module systems
Broad, in-depth knowledge of current network development and database architectures and technologies
Internet/Intranet protocols and web server technologies, as required
Developing systems architectures
Desired Technical Qualifications (not a requirement but nice to have)
Familiarity with continuous integration build process with Jenkins and JFrog
Developing SPA applications using Angular4+
Source Code Control and Version Control with Subversion and Redmine
