The qualifications you will need:

What You Will Do As an Associate with Ascension St. John Hospital, you will provide direct behavioral health patient care.You will:• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.• Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.• Observes and records patient behavior and activities. Reports any changes in condition and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.• Establishes a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients• Assists in the care, maintenance and ordering of equipment and supplies. Performs all other duties as assigned.• Assists patients in establishing effective ways of coping with current problems of daily living as identified in the patient's treatment plan of service. Conducts patient community meeting and didactic groups according to program treatment schedule.• Assists with the admission and discharge process as needed. Participates in quality outcome improvement process.• Plans and coordinates therapeutic activity for assigned patients, recognizing age-specific needs of the adult or geriatric patient.

What You Will Need Licenses/Certifications/Registration:• Required Credential(s):• One or more of the following:• Basic Life Support Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.Education:• Associate Degreeo Associate Degree from an accredited college program required, or a minimum of two years of college work with a curriculum in psychology, social work, nursing, or related field (review of transcript may be requested) Bachelor's Degree preferredWork Experience:• One year of inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
