Interface with customer, Applications Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Component Engineering during product development effort from initial prototypes to production.Job Description#8226;Responsible for customer requirements as pertains to electrical components, including hardware, software, and controls.#8226;Discuss and negotiate product specifications with the customer to meet product objectives.#8226;Establish and communicate project scope and specifications for electrical systems to Applications Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Component Engineering.#8226;Work with Engineering Project Manager to establish project timing plans for electrical systems development, including hardware, software, and controls.#8226;Work with Applications Engineer to support customer as required.#8226;Interface with customer, Applications Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Component Engineering during product development effort from initial prototypes to production.Required Skills and Education#8226;7 to 10 years' experience in automotive environment working directly with OEM's.#8226;Knowledge of requirement management tools (eg. DOORS) and methodologies are highly desired.#8226;5 years' experience in algorithm development in Simulink.#8226;5 years' experience in vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, UDS, etc.#8226;5 years' experience in data acquisition tools such as CANape, CANoe, Vehicle Spy, etc.#8226;Knowledge of version control tools such as PVCS, IBM RTC, etc.#8226;Knowledge of automotive production launch schedules and APQP principles.#8226;Working knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, DOE and DVPR#8226;Excellent organizational skills.#8226;Excellent written and verbal communication in English.#8226;Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronic or Computer Engineering with 10 years relevant engineering experience or Master's degree in Electrical / Electronic, Computer engineering with 7 years relevant engineering experience.#8226;Travel 5%About American Axle ManufacturingFor over 20 years, customers around the world have entrusted AAM to design, engineer, validate and manufacture driveline, metal forming, powertrain, and casting technologies for automotive, commercial and industrial markets.
