Candidates must be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Candidates must also be able to present evidence of academic excellence.Department Placements include groups in:*AAM Americas Engineering*Product EngineeringResponsibilities:*Participate in RD activities and support such activities for strategic product development initiatives that might give AAM an edge in the global market.*Participate in managing engineering design projects which includes assisting in the design, development, and validation process with lead engineer*Support product benchmarking analysis by disassembling automotive drive train components, weighing and measuring components, and coordinating a metallurgical analysis of the components.*Assist with engineering calculations related to the design of automotive drive train components.*Coordination of prototype builds to meet delivery schedules.*Manages time to accomplish results including project planning, cost and timing details*Obtains knowledge of department and its operations.*Other tasks as assignedRequired Skills and EducationRequirements Qualifications:*Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Mechanical or Electrical Engineering program with a graduation date of December 2020 or later.#160;*Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher required*Excellent oral and written communication skills.
