Join us!Job Posting TitleManufacturing Engineer - High Pressure Die CastingJob Description SummaryImplements High pressure die cast manufacturing techniques, processes, tooling, and machinery to maximize throughput.Establishes control charting of critical features and processes; monitors results and determines machine and process capabilities and performance reliability.Manages the implementation of new processes, selection of equipment to be purchased, and time estimates. Identifies optimal tooling for the casting process.Resolves issues with design, manufacturability, or build sequences. Ensures production-part acceptance and manufacturing readiness.Participates in adoption of new technologies and processes to achieve greater efficiency. Consults on and oversees selection and implementation of automation and robotics.Job Description#8226;Working knowledge of Aluminum high pressure die casting#8226;Develops Aluminum high pressure die casting equipment purchase proposals by studying manufacturing plans and commitments; evaluating manufacturing processes and requirements.#8226;Recommends new manufacturing equipment by identifying vendors and operating equipment, evaluating equipment capabilities and service history; evaluating vendor service and support.*Completes equipment cost projections by analyzing investment, return, and savings.#8226;Monitors equipment installations by advising crews.#8226;Meets production requirements by designing equipment modifications as needed#8226;Prepares equipment operators by conducting training; providing reference and support resources.#8226;Troubleshoot and implement corrective action issues#8226;Maintains process integrity by developing and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines.#8226;Maintains equipment records by filing documents; updating equipment database.Determine material properties of Aluminum castings alloysKnowledge of Aluminum metallurgy#160;Project management skills#8226;Protects organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.#8226;All other duties as assigned.Required Skills and Education#8226;Bachelor degree with major in engineering or manufacturing#8226;2+ years experience with Aluminum casting#8226;Ability to travel 25%About American Axle ManufacturingFor over 20 years, customers around the world have entrusted AAM to design, engineer, validate and manufacture driveline, metal forming, powertrain, and casting technologies for automotive, commercial and industrial markets.
