Denver Health Patient Access Specialist - Westside in Denver, Colorado

Job Summary Under minimal supervision, performs a variety of clerical duties for their assigned clinic which include, but are not limited to, patient registration and check in, appointment scheduling, on-line, in person and telephone appointment reminders, insurance verification and authorization, collection of copayments or required out of pockets costs, answer incoming telephone calls to the clinic, daily review of clinic schedules and miscellaneous clerical duties to insure proper patient flow in the clinic.

Minimum Qualifications Education 1. Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate required.

Experience 1. Two years of recent customer service experience required. 2. One year of recent healthcare or professional clerical experience required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Excellent customer service skills with clients, public and staff, greeting them and assisting them with needs and or directing them accordingly. 2. Some knowledge and the ability to learn medical terminology. 3. Ensures confidentiality of patient information by creating and maintaining a secure and trusting environment by not sharing information learned on the job, except when necessary in the performance of the job responsibilities or to improve a patient's care. 4. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Computers and Technology 1. Ability to type 25 wpm. 2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. 3. Familiarity with Epic. Certificates, Licenses and Registration 1. Health Care Access Associates Certificate preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities
