The Leadership for Educational Organizations (LEO) program in the CU Denver School of Education & Human Development (SEHD) is seeking a dynamic new, tenure-line/Assistant or Associate Professor/.

Major Responsibilities

Primarily teaching in our initial principal licensure program, with opportunities to also teach superintendency, master’s, and doctoral courses.Participating in faculty meetings and providing committee service to the LEO program, SEHD, and the university.Other major responsibilities include developing and implementing a program of research, doctoral advising, cohort management, and active engagement with our partners and communities.

This a full-time (9-month) academic year position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor on a tenure line. Opportunities for summer teaching are available.

Required Qualifications

  • An earned doctorate in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or a closely-related field

  • Experience working with culturally-, linguistically-, and economically-diverse communities*

Competencies

  • Knowledge of school issues and an interest in collaborating with a variety of constituents in diverse settings, especially urban contexts

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully and collaboratively with colleagues

  • Demonstrated success or potential for strong productivity and leadership in research, grant writing, and other scholarly work (with an expectation ofnational / international leadership in the field at the Associate Professor level)

  • Demonstrated success or potential for effectiveness in teaching, particularly at the graduate level

  • Demonstrated competencies in using digital tools and online environments for instruction

  • Research, teaching, advising, and mentoring experience with graduate students

  • An orientation toward innovative academic programming and service to schools and educators

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience in an education leadership/administrative position in a P-12 school

  • Experience working with cohort models of academic program delivery

  • Experience working in partnership with schools, communities, government agencies, and other key constituencies in diverse settings that will support our program’s work and strengthen our ties to the urban community

  • Ability to speak Spanish
