Kforce Payroll Specialist in Delray Beach, Florida

Kforce has a client in search of a Payroll Specialist in Delray Beach, Florida (FL).Essential Functions:

  • Process, record, data entry, and reconcile the biweekly and monthly payroll to include preparation of payroll reimbursement, disbursement and deposit of taxes

  • Provide technical assistance to all departments to insure compliance with all laws relative to employee payroll transactions

  • Process personnel action forms, tax returns, unemployment reports and other reporting documentation related to payroll matters

  • Review all travel and training requests and reconciliations

  • Administer enrollment and changes for the deferred compensation, 401A, Roth Ira and Pension Plans

  • Audit time sheets to ensure governmental and union compliance

  • Review and analyze various state and federal payroll related regulations

  • Administer enrollment and changes for deferred compensation and pension plans

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal payroll changes, code of ordinances, union contracts, and payroll related applications and software

  • Maintain payroll records as defined by law to include federal W-2 forms, declaration of trusts, federal W-4's, direct deposit and pension benefit information

  • Provide employee earnings and other information to employees, financial institutions and other companies and corporations as requested

  • Audit cash disbursements for timeliness of payments

  • Research, analyze, compile, payroll related reports and statistical data internally and externally as requested

  • Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating departmental policies and procedures

  • Review accuracy of payroll-related journal entries and perform account reconciliation and analysis

  • Prepare and analyze periodic payroll reports and payroll schedules in a timely manner

  • Reconcile statements, payments and general ledger for health, dental, life insurances and other payroll-related balances

  • High School diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma with three years payroll and data entry work

  • Five to seven years of work experience involving staff assistant and advanced clerical support

  • Knowledge of the application and retrieval of data using the payroll software package on a hard drive computer system
