State of Georgia Administrative Assistant II in Dekalb, Georgia

The Administrative Assistant II is responsible for supporting the GED® Testing Program and managing general office operations.

_RESPONSIBILITIES:_

Perform and complete tasks and assignments associated with personnel support functions for assigned organizational unit or program, (purchase orders, travel arrangements, expense statements, etc.);

Provide skills and knowledge of organization policies and procedures in support of the unit;

Complete complex processing of documents and/or transaction for assigned organizational unit, program and/or specialized function/activity;

Conduct research using a variety of sources to complete, prepare, assemble, process, and/or generate reports and other documentation, or to respond to inquiries, questions or requests;

Enter data from forms, records, reports, and/or other sources into computer for purposes such as maintaining databases;

Use computer software as a tool for performing clerical assignments;

Monitor use of and maintain supplies, equipment and/or facilities for assigned work unit or program area;

Cross-train in various assignments related to the operation of the department; and

Other duties as assigned.

_MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:_

Associate’s degree in Business Administrative TechnologyandOne (1) year of work related experienceOR

High school diplomaandTwo (2) years related work experience

_PREFERRED COMPETENCIES:_

Experience in social media;

Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills;

Experience with ADOBE PRO DC;

Editing experience;

Exceptional customer service abilities;

Bilingual is a plus; and

State of Georgia work experience.

_TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:_

Skill in the use of computers and job related software programs

Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures

Ability to operate workroom machinery such as fax machines, copiers, scanners, shredders, etc.

Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public

Oral and written communication skills
