Connected Vehicles Applications Engineer

Job Description & Qualifications:

Connected Vehicle Product & Platform (CVPP) organization at Ford Motor Company is looking for highly motivated engineers who are eager to work on cutting edge technology, who believe in disciplined approach to develop features and services that our customers would be excited to use.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead end to end connected feature suite development & program support for North America based vehicle programs.

  • Have a good understanding of connectivity eco-system which includes vehicle, cloud and mobile app interface. Ensure that each feature works as defined within this eco-system and meets design intent and customer expectations.

  • Interface with product/feature owners, system engineers, in-vehicle electrical hardware teams, IT and mobile app teams to ensure successful execution of the features on the vehicle program.

  • Work with validation teams to validate features on different vehicle programs

  • Ensure that the feature offering is correctly defined for the program and individual trim levels, including any connected vehicle dependencies to ensure connected vehicle product/feature compliance.

  • Manage the product development process from program approval to final verification sign-off, including oversight of verification status, and vehicle/breadboard/simulation based sign-off in support of vehicle milestones.

  • Ensure that all program deliverables are executed with high quality.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in engineering –Electrical/Electronics engineering or Computer Science

  • 2 or more years of experience as design, test or applications engineer for electronic modules

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Good understanding of CAN, Telematics, wireless technology, cloud services, mobile app development is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills and problem solving skills
