Function: Quality Engineering

Title: Quality Engineer - 48041

Your Responsibilities

As a Quality Engineer for John Deere Dubuque Works, you will provide quality planning, control, and improvement support for product development teams, manufacturing engineering, supply management, and manufacturing and/or distribution organizations to assure John Deere product quality meets the customers' expectations. This includes the application of quality tools within the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP) and Customer Support Process (CSP). Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Support application of quality tools with key suppliers as an integral element of quality planning

  • Manage or contribute to all Attachments Quality requirements

  • Support Attachments Distinctive Product Quality initiatives, Attachments CI and PDP projects, Attachment Supplier Quality Initiatives and Attachments supply base growth

  • Lead supplier development efforts where appropriate to address both short and long quality issues- to improve QPPM,QIP, FPM and IPQ metrics and to drive CAR closure and ensure effective resolution

  • Lead OFP issue resolution for assigned commodities including Root Cause Analysis, 8D, DMAIC, and others

  • Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and readiness visits

  • Schedule, lead, and manage Design Process and Assembly Reviews (DPARs), print reviews, and design reviews of current product design changes for OFP quality activities

  • Monitor and facilitate quality activities for part approval, verifies manufacturing processes (control plans, assembly instructions) and confirms process capability

What Skills You Need

  • Ability to communicate effectively, work with others, and present to leadership

  • Ability to lead teams through all stages of issue resolution

  • 5 or more years of experience in the following: Design, Validation, Manufacturing, or Quality

  • Knowledgeable about general quality processes

  • Knowledge of GD&T

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Advanced knowledge of statistics

  • Advanced knowledge of attachments manufacturing and design

  • Advanced data analysis utilizing Minitab

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
