IBM Cloud Backup Administrator in DALLAS, Texas

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a member of the Cloud Shared Services (CSS) program, the Backup Administrator will support projects and customers supported by the CSS program. The Backup Administrator is responsible for:

  • installing, configuring and managing Tivoli Storage Manager and similar backup technologies

  • maintaining magnetic tape and associated libraries for CSS and its clients

  • ensuring that the data is accessible and recoverable

  • Capacity management, monitoring total capacity and performance using appropriate reporting & monitoring tools

  • Managing, maintaining and enhancing the SAN disk and Fibre Channel switched network infrastructure

  • Performing daily routine maintenance of storage subsystems

  • Responding to after-hour incidents on a rotating shift.

Candidate must possess a US “Public Trust” clearance, Secret (or higher) clearance, or be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

The work location for this role is Dallas, TX, Raleigh, NC, Boulder, CO or Herndon, VA.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 2 years’ experience installing configuring and administering enterprise backup systems

  • 2 years’ experience specifically with NetBackup and related tools/technologies

  • 2 years’ experience working in IT Operations environment utilizing ITIL or similar procedures

  • 1 year of experience working with enterprise storage systems

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 2 years’ experience managing/supporting Tivoli Storage Manager in a production environment

  • Experience with NetApp storage and related tools/technologies (Data Fabric Manager, SnapMirror, SnapVault, etc)

  • Experience with IBM Storage infrastructure

  • Tape Lifecycle Management Experience with working in Federal government environment a plus.
