Parsons Corporation Systems Engineer in Dahlgren, Virginia

Polaris Alpha, a Parsons Company, is looking for experienced System Engineers to support system development and test efforts at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division in Dahlgren, Virginia. The System Engineer will support the development, test and evaluation of Department of Defense (DoD) systems in an team environment. In this position you will work collaboratively with the engineering team to ensure a high-quality of product delivery


  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience with DoD systems architectures, design, development, and test and evaluation

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline

  • U.S. citizen with a minimum of a SECRET Clearance

Required Skills:

  • Experience with system engineering, requirements management, and architecture tools such as CORE, Rhapsody, MagicDraw, DOORS, or executable UML

  • Experience in the development of DoD Architectural Framework (DoDAF) products including Operational Views (OV) and Operational Sequence Diagrams

  • Excellent written, verbal and customer service communications skills

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, customer-facing and secure operational work environment

  • Ability to self-direct and self-manage workload comprised of multiple, parallel activities with little to no managerial oversight

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and support technical positions, to justify technical recommendations, and to write technical publications and reports

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting Asymmetric Systems

  • Experience in radio frequency (RF) sensors and transmitter design, radar principles and theory, signal analysis, signal generation and injection testing

  • Electronic Warfare (EW) experience

  • Experience with Product Line Architecture (PLA) data model

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain, or currently possess Secret clearance.
