T. Marzetti Company Accounting Manager in Columbus, Ohio
Directs and coordinates the plant accounting and purchasing activities by ensuring the accuracy of all materials and supplies for plant operations, daily production reporting, purchasing and product pricing. Monitors plant productivity and profitability and advises plant management of variances requiring attention.
Oversees daily, weekly and monthly inventory transaction reports for the plant.
Ensures daily transactions are completed by authorized individuals and that they are timely to the current activities.
Ensures plant policies and procedures in compliance to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements; maintains process controls.
Verifies accuracy of current formula files in compliance with R&D and QA requirements.
Oversees inventory control; reports and controls variances; coordinates annual and quarterly physical inventories.
Analyzes and reports trends in labor costs; completes special cost analyses of labor as requested.
Ensures accuracy of all standard costs.
Coordinates the preparation of the monthly KRA report; presents operating results and analysis to plant management; assists plant management team with KRA goal improvements.
Provides leadership in driving lean processes for inventory.
Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
8-10 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food related industry.
BS/BA degree in accounting or related field.
Working knowledge of accounting/inventory systems, manufacturing processes and purchasing. Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
Previous management/supervisory experience.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office; strong pivot table knowledge.
Experience with JD Edwards, Prism with the eventual integration into SAP is a plus.
Flexibility in schedule with availability to work around month end close and year end close, may include weekends.

Directly supervises 3-4 employees in the plant accounting area. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and results of the accounting area. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and appraising employees; planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints/grievances and resolving problems.
