The System Engineer-IT’s primary responsibilities are participating in the implementation, maintenance, and support of information technologies, to include Windows and Unix systems and components. The Engineer/Administrator schedules and performs installations and upgrades to OS/COTs, software, and database packages in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. In addition, this position will coordinate the overall integration on new development systems as they transition to sustainment. This position is also responsible for managing appropriate software solutions to ensure server data integrity, monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance level, monitoring security alerts and application systems, and working with other staff to ensure that all appropriate patches are applied in an automated and timely fashion.
Perform development of Windows OS/COTS Security Releases using Windows scripting and Symantec Ghost Casting Software (or similar). Platforms include Windows 7, Windows 10, Server 2008, and Server 2016. Install and perform testing on such releases. Scan all systems and apply current DISA STIGs to ensure high compliance status is met. Perform daily System Administrator tasks in Windows and Solaris environments, to include virtual environments. Perform server builds and quarterly maintenance on such servers. Perform testing and DR verification after software installs are complete. Troubleshoot any issues and provide support related to these software installs.

• DOD SECRET clearance
• Minimum 18 months administering Windows operating systems environments
• Must Meet DOD 8570 Requirement (Security+ or higher certification)
• Test/Integration Experience highly preferred
• Working Knowledge on developing OS/COTS security releases for Windows platforms
• Unix-based OS experience highly desired
• Familiarity with System Accreditation process
• Working Knowledge of Clearcase and ClearQuest
