Job Description

CACI is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the Air Force Satellite Control Network, AFSCN. This role will support a very exciting and important mission for the Air Force and Department of Defense.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Candidates should have a wide range of cyber engineering knowledge:

  • The ISSE provides support for Information Assurance to maintain operational security posture and ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed.

  • Designs, tests, and implements state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design. Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, Routers, Switches, electronic data traffic, and network access. Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research. Prepare security reports to regulatory agencies

  • Designs, develops or recommends integrated system solutions ensuring proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected in accordance with mandated standards

  • Participates with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs

  • Configures and validates secure systems, tests security products/systems to detect computer and information security weakness. Generates security architecture documentation. Provides critical written and verbal analyses of previously generated security architecture documentation and vulnerability and risk assessments

  • Familiarity (Administrative and Configuration level experience) with HBSS systems, ePO server and policy Administrator tasks and skills

  • Familiarity (Administrative and Configuration level experience) with Microsoft Domain Controllers including Active Directory and Group Policy Object management

  • Knowledge and familiarity with SCAP tools, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG’s) and Vulnerability scanning tools (such as NMAP, Nessus (or Tenable Nessus ACAS suite) and other tools such as WinAudit and LinAudit are advised

  • Understanding of and ability to revise/modify Topology diagrams and Perform DISA based Ports, Protocols, and Services management (PPSM) are required

  • Designs and implements plans of action and milestones to remediate findings from vulnerability and risk assessments. Provides information assurance for digital information, ensuring its confidentiality, integrity, and availability

  • Develop, maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) cybersecurity artifacts for AFSCN mission systems

  • Develop, implement an Anti-virus/Malware identification process for checking in/out of AFSCN equipment from/to AFSCN sites

  • The Cyber Security Engineer will coordinate with CAMMO Software Maintenance Action (SWMA) team to perform system scans to identify non-compliant RMF controls and propose corrective actions

  • In coordination with the Government, employ system security engineering to design, develop and implement secure applications and configurations. In preparation of acquiring mission hardware for all cyber-impacting projects/efforts, evaluate the COTS and GOTS, when available, hardware, firmware, and software information security components

  • Perform cyber security controls verification assessments IAW DoDI 8510.01 and DoDI 8500.01 on an annual basis

  • Attend Cyber Technical Interchange Meetings at key project phases (Requirements, Design, etc.) to obtain IA community buy off before proceeding

  • Participates in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards related to information security, privacy and incident response, and monitors compliance to these policies and programs

  • Provides cyber technical engineering services for the support of integrated security systems and solutions

  • Uses tools and processes to monitor information systems for security-related events

  • Helps plan configuration changes for major security infrastructure platforms

  • Helps maintain a library of security audit tools, and corresponding processes that can be used for system security testing, internal audits, incident response, and diagnosis of security-related system issues

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Education: BS Degree in cyber security engineering

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of cyber engineering experience

  • CompTIA Security+ Certification required

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

  • Technically competent, Solid decision making and critical thinking, Strong customer focus. Self-motivated, Desire to learn, Effective and professional interpersonal skills, Pride in work, Strong team player, Hardworking

  • There is no clearance requirement to begin employment. As a requirement of continued employment you will be required to obtain a secret clearance.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for a secret clearance.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • AFSCN operations and maintenance or other equivalent experience with satellite ground systems

  • DoD/Air Force cyber engineering concepts and processes

  • VMware, Active Directory, SQL Servers, McAfee, HBSS and e-Policy Orchestrator (ePO)
