POSITION: Donations Coordinator (Temporary)

DEPARTMENT: Emergency Disaster Department/ Chico Distribution Center

SUPERVISOR: Logistics Section Chief

STATUS: Non-Exempt - 29 hours per week

PAY: $12.00/hr

DURATION OF POSITION: December 26, 2018 – January 31, 2018

A. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage all donations coming in to the distribution center.

  2. Coordinate with the Logistics Sections Chief every time a new donation call comes in or a truck shows up to ensure space and need.

  3. Document and track all donations by date in our Donations Tracking Worksheet in Microsoft Office.

  4. Answer phone and speak with corporate and individual donors to assess the need for particular types of donations.

  5. The Donations Manager may have to perform other duties as needed or required by the Logistics Section Chief

  6. Submit donations management report at the end of everyday

Requirements

B. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

  1. 21 Years of age or older.

  2. High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

  3. Minimum 1 year of Logistics, Distribution Center, Warehouse or Data Entry experience

  4. Valid state-issued driver’s license

  5. Must have the ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive and professional manner.

  6. Familiarity with Salvation Army volunteer policies and procedures.

  7. Computer and Microsoft office (WORD) proficient.

  8. Good people skills

  9. Experience working in Logistics/Distribution Center

  10. Effective communicator (on phone and in person)

  11. Ability to work well on a team

  12. Data entry experience

  13. Valid state-issued driver’s license

D. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis

  2. Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects

  3. Ability to reach overhead

  4. Ability to operate telephone

  5. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  6. Ability to operate a computer

  7. Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information

  8. Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer
