Job Purpose

This position is responsible for ensuring alignment of project specific designs with the application architecture roadmap of impacted products; providing application architecture support including defining and documenting application architectural details, business and technology drivers, and solution options (roadmap alignment); defining the interaction between application suites, databases and middleware systems to deliver on business capabilities; operating in a complex and diverse application landscape; supporting product teams on functional and technical design activities; acting as subject matter expert (SME) for the Fee for Value (FFV) capability that requires integration into various products/applications.

A successful candidate will have demonstrated success in developing architecture strategies and be able to make short-term decisions in the context of the long-term technology direction; will have a strong healthcare background and the willingness/ ability to dig deep into issues across the FFV ecosystem and drive results; will have the ability to translate business needs into specific systems, applications or process designs for very large, complex IT solutions. This person will need to be a leader who works well with others, able to influence and guide others in challenging situations.

Required Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology discipline

  • 8 years of technical experience in multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments including 3 years of application architecture experience

  • Strong experience in application architecture design and development

  • Experience in application configuration and systems integration

  • Experience in application performance management (high performance tuning, scaling)

  • Understands all domains of architecture and applies that knowledge to solve complex business problems that have a broad impact on the business and application areas

  • Able to define the solution, tie it across systems and gather buy-in from the impacted product teams

  • Solid knowledge of current and emerging technologies to apply it towards solutions in business applications

  • Experience in application development platforms and/or languages (Java, J2EE, MQ, Web-Based Services)

  • Experience applying enterprise integration patterns using SOA, API’s, microservices, message-based, and file-based approaches

  • Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry and deployment of cloud native applications to PCF

  • Knowledge of SaaS / IaaS / PaaS technologies

  • Familiar with applying data integration patterns using traditional and modern data technologies

  • Experience in RDBMS, SQL - Teradata/DB2

  • Able to partner with product teams to implement complex solutions and align solutions to their roadmaps

  • Experience defining and negotiating solution options while considering risks, costs, and impact on the enterprise business processes and goals

  • Ability to prioritize and make trade-off design decisions

  • Experience delivering solutions using an Agile/Scrum methodology

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and communication

  • Collaboration across multiple product teams

  • Problem solving / analytical thinking

  • Strong oral/written communication skills
