SUMMARY: The Administrator is responsible for managing the human and capital resources within the Department of Breast Imaging and maintains an environment which provides the highest quality patient care and services in the most cost effective manner. He/she must exhibit strong human resource management skills that promotes a productive work environment and facilitates personal and professional growth. The Administrator must exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the day-to day operations of the department by maintaining optimal staffing and scheduling of support staff to ensure timely provision of services. Oversees the accreditation process for breast imaging on site and at the satellite breast imaging centers. Ensures that all regulatory standards are met. Ensure the accreditation of the Rush Breast Imaging Center as a Center of Excellence. Manages image quality across the breast imaging satellite centers. Facilitates effective operational responsiveness to the unique needs breast imaging patients across the breast imaging centers on site and at the satellites. Provides guidance and leadership as it relates to the recruitment and hiring of qualified staff, evaluation of performance metrics, and adherence to job skills and departmental expectations on site and at the satellite centers. Oversees training and development of staff by providing internal and external access to continuing education opportunities. Promotes personal and professional enhancement through the department’s internal training and advancement process. Maintains consistency as it relates to operational and clinical standards at the main campus and at the satellite centers. Conducts staff meetings on a regular basis to communicate information, review departmental performance and formulate action plans for problem solving. Maintain minutes of meetings. Travels to the satellite centers. Interacts with all departmental and Medical Center customers to assess and respond to service issues. Interfaces directly with medical staff to assess and respond to service issues.Participates in the development of the annual operating and capital budgets for the main campus and at the satellite centers.Maintains departmental productivity measures for the main campus and at satellite centers. Maintains a clean and safe environment for all departmental and Medical Center customers.Oversees the tracking of staff absenteeism and tardiness patterns. Coaches leaders at the main campus and at the satellite centers on the appropriate disciplinary action where necessary and steps in as required.Authorize biweekly payroll and associated reports.Review and analyze patient feedback. Initiate corrective action to resolve issues at the main campus and at the satellite centers. Oversee Environment of Care in a manner that meets regulatory guidelines.Oversees integration of new breast imaging modalities with Epic, Radiant, PACS and other informational systems.Manages the roll out of new technologies on the main campus and satellite facilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED : Minimum 10 years in breast imaging experience. Previous management experience in a hospital or healthcare-related setting with an excellent work history, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and proven problem-solving capabilities.Must demonstrate understanding of organizational vision, mission and values.Directs all activities towards meeting the exceeding the needs and expectations of all departmental and Medical Center customers.
