This job was posted by : For more information, please see: POSITION SUMMARY:The Conflicts Specialist will complete computerized conflicts searches of existing and potential clients to avoid possible ethical conflicts and business issues. The Conflicts Specialist will be responsible for the entire conflicts process, from research through resolution of conflicts, through opening of new matters.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct basic conflict searches and analyze search results with the appropriate internal and external databases and ensure that all necessary information is obtained so that an accurate search can be completedPerform corporate research using CapitalIQ and Dun & BradstreetIdentify potential conflicts.Provide Firm lawyers with conflicts summaries.Communicate with Firm lawyersWork with Firm lawyers, Assistant General Counsel and Senior Conflicts Attorneys to assist with conflict resolutionReview new client and matter forms to ensure that all information, signatures, and documentation have been received for approvalProvide customer service to secretaries and attorneys regarding the conflicts clearance processDraft waivers and ethical screensAssist with department projects and special requestsEXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS (Must be specifically listed on resume in order to be considered for this position):JD Required2+ years' work experience in professional setting requiredCOMPETENCIESLegalKey or IntApp Open knowledge desiredIdeal candidate will be organized, analytical, detail oriented, demonstrate independent thinking and decision making skillsAbility to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and requirementsAbility to track issues and follow-up on issuesAbility to solve problems by choosing clear-cut alternativesAbility to work in a team atmosphere, and be computer proficient with strong internet researching skillsFamiliar with use of various reference materials and internet searchingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to provide quality, accurate and efficient work product in a high volume environmentClearance of firm standard background checks is required.
