Ethos Veterinary Health Certified Veterinary Technician- Emergency in Chicago, Illinois
Premier Veterinary Group in Chicago is looking for a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Team.

This role represents an exciting opportunity for the motivated, highly trained veterinary nurse that is seeking a challenging position dedicated to quality patient care. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years experience in an ER/specialty setting. Experience delivering high quality customer service is required. Completion of an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program and certification in the state of Illinois is highly desired.
Triage and take complete histories on incoming patients
Assisting with managing the flow between clients and patients
Execute treatment plans correctly and use of hospital information system and digital treatment sheets
Provide excellent nursing care efficiently and accurately
Proper handling, completion of paperwork, and submission of all laboratory samples.
Produce quality digital radiographs safely and efficiently.
Assisting the DVMs and other members of the medical teams in procedures and treatments
Anesthetizing, maintaining, monitoring and recovering patients perioperatively. Must be proficient in drug and CRI calculations.

Skills and Experience:
Proper animal restraint
Peripheral catheter placement and properly securing them
Knowledge of various routes of drug administration
Calculation and administration of fluids and medications
Aseptic surgical area preparation
Work well under pressure and during high levels of strss
Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask
Strong computer skills and ability to problem solve
Exhibit compassion and empathy towards clients, rDVMs and team members
Flexible working hours
Out-going personality and works well individually and in a team setting
Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds
High School education or equivalent
2 years of related job experience
Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician
