Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer

responsibilities:

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Build and support Linux server infrastructure in a fast-moving enterprise

  • Represent the team as a Linux subject matter expert in small and large projects

  • Perform system upgrades, patch maintenance, and support production for critical business systems

  • Develop best practice standards and procedures to help scale the environment while maintaining operational excellence

  • Work closely with network, virtualization, database, and application teams on multi-site solutions

  • Enhance Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery capabilities for the Linux environment

  • Document routine processes and procedures for junior team members

qualifications:

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Programming experience

  • Experience with public cloud providers: AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, etc.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

skills: At a minimum, you'll need:

  • 4 years of relevant experience

  • Systems Administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems - IBM AIX a plus

  • Administration of Red Hat Satellite management platform

  • Experience running Linux servers in a VMware environment

  • Experience scripting for automation/deployment processes - Ansible, Python, Shell

  • NFS protocol, SAN technology, Linux Volume Manager/Filesystems, Multi-pathing

  • Networking concepts - LACP, VLAN tagging, Cisco ACI

  • Zerto Virtual Replication
