Bank of America Treasury Product Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Description:

The GTS Digital Disbursements Team is mandated to grow both domestic and cross-border payments through the marketing and enhancement of our existing offering, and the development and launch of new products. As BAML seeks to grow payments revenue we face fierce competitive pressure from banks, traditional networks and non-traditional payment providers. To remain relevant and grow share, we must rapidly develop and launch leading edge solutions that address client pain points and leverage evolving market trends.

This role will be responsible for providing extensive product partner support to the end-to-end development of new products, strategic initiatives, and certain routine product management functions as described below:

Product Specialist / Sales:

  • Develop and deliver new products to market. Own the implementation from end to end.

  • Support the sale of the Digital Disbursement product set by providing top quality, end-to-end subject matter expertise on solution-oriented product positioning and detailed product capabilities to GTS treasury sales officers, GBAM bankers, and directly to clients.

  • Support new product launch, and new product development of client adoption programs designed to increase clients’ usage of Digital Disbursements.

  • Support the creation of training programs, marketing materials/literature, etc. to help educate clients and BofAML sales/bankers on product use cases.

  • Understand client needs, product functionality, marketplace trends,and competive landscape regarding digital payments and be able to discuss topics as both micro and macro levels.

  • Exhibit a strong background in payments, and dedication to continually enhancing and expanding subject-matter expertise. General background in technical integration and bank operations/servicing not required but considered a plus.

New Product Development:

  • Work with GTS innovation and other business partners to help design and launch new payment products and distribution through alternative payment channels to meet the domestic and cross-border payment needs of GTS clients, and to enhance existing products.

  • Engage with regional partners to develop appropriate expansion strategies and related business cases for international digital disbursements. Identify target networks and help drive execution of regional expansion.

  • Collaborate with product and business development partners in the definition of terms for programs / deals with third-party product and technology providers, including pricing, SLAs and other key contractual provisions.


Key responsibilities of this position include:

Product Specialist / Sales :

  • Travel to client offices and to conference with GTS sales/GBAM bankers to provide subject-matter expertise on Digital Dsibursements as a key part of the sales effort.

  • Work with a business partners in product management, channel management, marketing, legal, technology, etc to launch new digital payment functionality, as well as enhancements to existing functionality.

  • Train internal partners on Digital Disbursements

  • Work with business partners on the design and requirements for enhancements to existing products and creation of new products to ensure consistent client experience and seamless integration across products, while maintaining full risk and compliance management

  • Proactively engage with clients and sales team and survey competitive market to help define and scope development of the next generation of capabilities to ensure market differentiation.


  • Must have at least 3-5 years treasury management / payment industry

  • Experience interacting with treasury management clients in either a sales, servicing, or implementation role

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Must be able to present to clients, BofAML executives, and business partners, demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interest / willingness to keep current with trends in the payments business

  • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and an excellent understanding of technology within a business context

  • Must have ability to work in a fast paced, cross-functional environment

  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel


  • BA/BS or higher

  • Experience selling, managing, or implementing treasury management products

  • Experience in product development – new products and enhancement of existing products
