Bank of America Senior Standards Design Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Description:

Role Summary: We are in a period of amazing evolution and growth in the design of our Financial Centers. Our robust remodel program requires that we translate new concepts into architectural standards, guidelines and specifications that provide our architects and construction partners with the details they need to efficiently and consistently roll our design concept out into a large number and wide variety of centers. This role requires the ability to partner on determining the best way to execute concepts in the field and then ensure that we are working with the best vendors and providing the right level of detail to ensure that the program can be seamlessly rolled out.

Additionally, as we test and learn on new concepts this position will be responsible for identifying the sites we test in and then managing the test so that the findings can be quickly incorporated into the standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design guidelines so that we can provide clarity to our external partners and move quickly to incorporate new fixtures, furnishings and finishes.

  • Research new vendors, material sources, etc. that allow us to stay innovative and also determine ways that we can continue to elevate our experience while being responsible with the build-out cost. (Creative VE)

  • Responsible for translating the design of any new concepts so they can be seamlessly and consistently rolled out

  • To support the detailed execution of the design of our Financial Centers, we require a designer or architect who is able to translate the new prototype design of our centers into standards, guidelines and specifications.

Required Skills:

  • 8 or more years’ experience in Retail or Hospitality Design

  • Bachelor Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related study

  • Expert in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office.

  • Must have extensive knowledge in architectural detailing, construction documents, standards and the specification of furniture, fixtures and finishes.

  • Must have ability to create clear and compelling guidelines that provide partners with an overview on the what/why of a design

  • Creative Value Engineering: research new vendors, material sources, etc. that allow us to stay innovative and determine ways that we can continue to elevate our experience while being responsible with the build-out cost.

Desired Skills:

  • Possesses a high level of curiosity and desire to improve their craft.

  • Ability to think beyond the current deliverable and make process recommendations on how we can continue to improve the way we document and execute our remodels and new builds.

  • High level of initiative and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills to move projects forward.

  • Strong intellectual capital paired with equally strong emotional intelligence and a desire to roll up their sleeves to get it done.

  • Assesses quickly and has a track record of getting up to speed quickly and adding immediate value to new situations.

  • Exceptional ability to collaborate with key stakeholders.
