Bank of America Release Train Engineer, Global Treasury Services Technology in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Description:

The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and coach.

The RTE will ensure Leaders & Team members achieve commitments by helping escalate, mitigate, and resolve risks, dependencies, and impediments. As a part of the role, the RTE will help the teams meet their commitments by making sure the ecosystem issues (risks, dependencies, impediments) are visualized, managed and owned to acceptance, mitigation and / or resolution. As an Agile coach, the RTE will instill an agile mindset and build a culture of continuous learning, leading by example. The RTE will work with his/her peers to influence & increase the adoption of the scaled agile framework (SAFe). The RTE will work with the programs/ portfolios to assess maturity in agile principles and practices. It is expected that the Release Train Engineer will maintain a continuous improvement backlog and show consistent improvement in the adoption of SAFe practices/principles, while highlighting/escalating roadblocks and showstoppers.

Responsibilities ·

  • Ensure Agile/SAFe is understood and enacted in the Value Stream/ART

  • Ensure alignment across the Value Stream/ART through establishment of good refinement habits to create a good Product Backlog

  • Identify and manage interactive dependencies within a complex systems environment

  • Facilitating the Program Team (Product Management, Technology – System Architects & Engineers) to Road-map & Release Planning readiness

  • Anticipate and meet the needs of the teams

  • Advocate for the needs of the ART and System

  • Facilitating program ceremonies including Big Room Planning (Program Increment Planning)

  • Tracking the execution of features and capabilities

  • Communicate issues effectively to the Scrum Masters , Senior Leadership and Program Managers/Project Managers to ensure the timely execution of the customer’s objectives

  • Enabling change & continuous improvement to increase the productivity of the VS/ART Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills regardless of nationality origin

  • Possess a passion for consulting with capability to stretch and apply your skills in an open, entrepreneurial environment

  • Have advanced knowledge of the software development life-cycle and of several software development methodologies

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, competing priorities, and prioritize to meet deadlines

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferably in Computer Science/ Information Technology

  • 10 + years of experience leading Information Technology project

  • 2+ years delivering large scale IT solutions leveraging Agile or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

  • Experience in business and solution development, project/program management, and project delivery

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience is preferred.
