Business Systems Analyst

job summary:

Client is looking for a Technology BA to support and document requirements for Retirement technology efforts

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS

  • Effective formal and informal communication skills through various media. (in person, writing, telephone, online meeting)

  • Excellent communication, analytical and presentation skills, with expertise in articulating complex information to technical professionals and end users.

  • Experience running joint application development (JAD) sessions with business stakeholders, developers and testers to gather business requirements and generate a functional design to meet those requirements. (Note: These sessions may contain as few as 5 - 6 attendees to as many as 25 - 30 attendees, depending on the size and complexity of the project.)

  • Ability to clearly and succinctly report project status and issues to Business Analyst Manager and Scrum Master(s).

  • Ability to respond to questions about BRD and FSD documents and provide clarifications to business stakeholders, developers and testers alike.

TECHNICAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

  • Require an open minded team player with a thorough understanding of how IT systems work and interact.

  • Candidate should be skilled at gathering business requirements from end-users and creating clear and concise business requirements documentation (BRD).

  • Candidate should have experience documenting functional specification documents (FSD) based on the design agreed to with Developers, Architects and Stakeholder input.

  • Experience working with MS Visio creating diagrams such as process flow, sequence and decision tree.

  • Experience generating mock-ups to give the project stakeholders a sense of how new fields will be incorporated into existing screens.

  • Experience using agile project methodology.

  • Experience creating agile backlogs/story points that support functional design and presenting/ tracking those backlogs in daily scrum call(s).

qualifications:

Minimum 7 years' experience as a Technology BA

Must be able to create multiple Technical BA artifacts

Candidate must have demonstrated background in engaging stakeholders on technology and business side

SDLC experience required

Experience working with Agile teams nice to have

skills: Ability to pick-up new concepts and skills quickly.

  • MS Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with relational databases and SQL.

  • Experience using Version One is preferred, but not required.

Financial services background is nice to have with understanding of institutional retirement products
