Job Description

Responsible for leading a crew to complete scheduled and unscheduled storm water construction and maintenance projects on public property, streets, sidewalks or rights-of-way using a variety of machines, tools and equipment. Removes debris and vegetation from drainage ditches and structures. Supervises and leads a construction and maintenance crew. Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used. Maintains all equipment and tools in good working condition. Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Maintains time and production records. May operate motor equipment such as tractors, front-end loaders and dump trucks. Performs activities of workers supervised. Performs other duties as assigned. Requires: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Driver’s License. Valid Commercial Driver’s License – Class B required within six months of employment or promotion.
