Job DescriptionNew Graduate RN needed for Gynecology/Gyn Oncology - 6 Women's--Hire dates to beJanuary/February/March 2019; must have finished nursing program within the past year. A resume outlining clinical rotations in nursing school and a cover letter attached to the application are strongly encouraged.This opportunity is for a new graduate RN's who have graduated from nursing school within the past 12 months and have worked as a RN less than 6 months. It is expected that that applicants will have their North Carolina RN license prior to the first day of employment. New graduate RN needed for GYN/GYN Oncology unit located in the NC Women's Hospital. This is a 36 hour/week, day/night and weekend rotation, with flexible self-scheduling. The sixth floor of the NC Women's Hospital provides acute inpatient services for surgical patients and oncology care including chemotherapy administration and inpatient radiation therapy. Unit overflow includes care of post-partum and medicine patients. The RN works in a collaborative environment with members of the interdisciplinary team to advance patient and family care. After established entry level competency the RN is eligible to obtain a Chemotherapy/Biotherapy provider card through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS). This 22-bed unit is dedicated to the advancement of patient and family-care, education and research in the field of gynecology and gynecology oncology.New Graduate Nurses are part of the UNC Medical Center Residency Program (NRP). This program is a yearlong program supporting transition from academia to practice for new graduate nurses. The program is layered on top of orientation to provide mentored clinical relationships which support development as a professional nurse.Qualifications
Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing. Bachelor’s degree in nursing, preferred. Must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, if hired after January 6, 2014 and obtain a baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing or a Master’s degree with a major in nursing within seven years of employment date. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the Board of Nursing by the first day of clinical care. Current healthcare provider BLS/CPR certification required.
