Responsible for the direct supervision of the Systems Engineering/Analysis staff. Reviews and prioritizes network needs and analyzes project costs and feasibility. Develops systems analysis standards and methodology consistent with technical requirements. Schedules staff to obtain proper response in a timely manner. Reviews recommendations for systems improvement. Responsible for the employment, training and discipline of assigned employees.
Specific Description: This position will be part of the NUO program leadership team and will manage a desktop of engineers supporting the NUO customer. As a part of the leadership team, this position will help establish, support and recommend policy decisions, program direction, performance assessments and assist in the achievement of business goals, including attaining finance targets and high award fee scores. This management function is essentially an additional duty to an individual contributor
Requires BA/BS with 12+ years of experience with at least 4 years of management level responsibility. Incumbent has specialized knowledge in at least one area of expertise and a general knowledge in 1-2 other areas.
Individual must already have or be selected for an individual contributor position on the NUO program. This is not a full-time manager position, but rather an additional duty that will need to be performed in conjunction with the full-time IC role.
Previous experience as a functional manager.
Working knowledge of corporate policies and how to help employees with corporate policy compliance.
Demonstrated success in managing people, including regular communications, providing constructive performance feedback, timely response to requests for assistance, providing career advice and counsel, and addressing employee concerns in a timely manner.
Experience in program staffing, staffing vacancies and interviewing candidates
Experience with space communications systems
Prior experience with the NUO customer and mission area.
Demonstrated success in proposal work as a capture manager, proposal manager, staffing lead, past performance and/or volume lead.
