Kforce has a client seeking SMT Manufacturing Engineers in Chandler, Arizona (AZ).Summary:The SMT Manufacturing Engineer shall plan, design, and coordinate the integration of primarily surface mount machinery and equipment, processing, and documentation into manufacturing process of industrial establishment.Responsibilities:

  • Develops and writes equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposal for integrating machinery and equipment such as automatic pick and place, surface mount, stencil and screen printing, solder reflow, and other microelectronic equipment into manufacturing process, including programming and equipment support

  • Write and develops programs for automated SMT placement machines, and AOI equipment

  • Selects or designs tools and fixtures to meet specifications for the use in microelectronic processing equipment

  • Writes operating instructions and work instructions from existing documentation program, and prepares for implementation of a new documentation program

  • Oversees installation to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications

  • Demonstrates methods and trains workers in sequence of processing tasks and operations and process control of machines and equipment

  • Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product

  • Confers with engineering and production personnel to implement operating procedures and resolve system or process discrepancies

  • Analyzes and resolves production problems, or assists team members in solving production problems related to the processing of microelectronic circuits

  • Uses LEAN manufacturing philosophies to achieve success in these areas

  • BS degree or AS degree in a technical field is required or equivalent experience

  • 5 years of manufacturing engineering in a microelectronics environment experience required

  • Experience with Surface Mount Technology (SMT) is required

  • Experience with Automatic Pick and Place, DEK Stencil and Screen Printing and Heller Solder re-flow preferred

  • Experience with military, aviation, automotive and/or medical industries a plus

  • Ability to analyze and simulate customer data for prototyping

  • Creative thinking: can translate business problems to solutions

  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities
